The dish and general utility position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using both machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dish-washing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary facility such as collecting soiled dishes from dining areas and transporting them to the kitchen, wiping tables and maintaining a clean dining room.
This job operates in a kitchen environment. This specific role routinely uses 3 compartment sinks and dishwashers to clean kitchen cooking utensils and appliances. Employees in this role are frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals and cleaning chemicals.
The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop or kneel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include; close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
• Full-time and part time positions available.
• Days and hours of work vary based on need.
• Must be available to work nights and weekends frequently, and some holidays.
Preferred Education and Experience:
• Experience working in commercial kitchen.
• Food Handlers permit required.
• Ability to read and comprehend labels on chemicals.
